Overview

Large moulds changed in minutes rather than hours, with a safety control device, non-touch clamps and mechanical lock clamps standing between the operator and the press.

MICO is a hydraulic quick mould and die change system built for the conditions of a working production floor rather than a specification sheet: high speeds, constant vibration, extreme temperatures and humidity. It is specified where changeover time, not cycle time, is the real constraint on output.

Economic efficiency. With an automatic change system, large-sized moulds can be switched in minutes. Changeover stops being a scheduled loss and becomes a routine step, which shortens economical run lengths, reduces the inventory a plant has to carry against long changeovers, and returns those hours to production.

Safety first. A manual mould change puts a person between platens, handling heavy clamps under time pressure. MICO includes a safety control device, a non-touch clamp and a mechanical lock clamp, designed to eliminate the risks that come with manual operation and give the people on the floor a secure way to work.

A manual mould change puts a person between platens. MICO is designed so that no one has to be there.

Key advantages

01

Minutes, not hours

An automatic change system switches large moulds in minutes, cutting downtime and lifting overall productivity.

02

Built for real conditions

Robust and rigorous under high speed, vibration, extreme temperature and humidity, the environment the press actually lives in.

03

Safety control device

Clamping is governed rather than improvised, removing the judgement calls that manual changeovers depend on.

04

Non-touch clamp

The clamp engages without an operator reaching into the danger zone to place or release it.

05

Mechanical lock clamp

A mechanical lock holds the mould independently of hydraulic pressure, so a pressure loss is not a dropped mould.

06

Shorter economical runs

When changeover is cheap, smaller batches become viable, less finished stock sitting in the warehouse against a long setup.
